Jackson McCall

Summary & History

Jackson is a Class of 2027 student-athlete at St. Augustine High School and a four-year varsity basketball starter. His experience as a varsity player gives him an opportunity to teach young athletes not only the fundamentals of basketball, but also the habits, discipline, and mindset that are required to continue progressing as a player. Jackson focuses on building strong fundamentals from the beginning. His training emphasizes ball-handling, passing, shooting technique, footwork, defensive positioning, movement without the ball, and understanding team play. He especially enjoys working with younger players because he understands how important those early years are to a player's development. Rather than simply teaching players how to score, he encourages them to learn how to make good decisions, play unselfishly, communicate with teammates, compete on defense, and respond positively to coaching.

Developing the Next Generation

Jackson believes that young players develop best when they are challenged in a positive environment. His goal is to help each player become more confident with the basketball while developing the fundamentals that will serve them throughout middle school and high school. He leads by example and encourages players to approach every practice with energy, focus, and a willingness to learn.
